Revolt Motors has welcomed Roy Kurian, automotive industry veteran, as the new President of the company.
Kurian has almost two decades of experience working in the two-wheeler industry.
He started his automotive industry with Bajaj Auto in 2000, followed by a 15-year stint with Yamaha Motor India, where grew to the position of Senior VP Marketing.
In 2020, he joined Tork Motors followed by Ampere Electric Vehicles in 2021. In his last stint he was the CEO of Baxy Mobility, a IC- and electric three-wheeler manufacturing company and part of the Continental Engines Group.
Revolt Motors entered the Indian electric two-wheeler market in 2019, with high-promises of being the first AI-enabled motorcycle. Founded by Rahul Sharma, best known for his previous stint as Co-Founder and MD of Micromax, a mobile phone maker.
The start-up claimed the fame for launching the first commercially available electric motorcycle in the country, but had its own fair share of challenges.
In 2021, RattanIndia Enterprises had acquired 43 percent stake in the EV maker and by January 2023 it has acquired 100 percent stake in the company.
In terms of sales performance, Revolt sold 4,946 e-motorcycles this year, and a total of 27,146 units since its launch.
