TVS Motor Company, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of two- and three-wheelers, has announced the establishment of its Global Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Design and Engineering in Bologna, Italy. This strategic move comes with the company’s acquisition of 100% ownership of Engines Engineering S.p.A., an Italian automotive design and engineering leader renowned for its MotoGP expertise, advanced prototyping, and innovation in high-performance motorcycles.

The new Global CoE reinforces TVS Motor’s long-term vision of delivering premium, connected, and future-ready mobility solutions across international markets. By integrating Engines Engineering’s world-class capabilities with TVS Motor’s global R&D network, the CoE will act as a concept-to-product innovation hub aimed at enhancing speed to market, product differentiation, and technological leadership.

Strengthening TVS Motor’s Global Innovation and Premium Portfolio

The acquisition and establishment of the CoE will not only strengthen TVS Motor’s premium and electric product pipeline but also provide a significant boost to Norton Motorcycles, the company’s iconic British brand. Norton will leverage the CoE’s expertise to craft luxury motorcycles with cutting-edge performance and modern design, aligning with its ambition to evolve as a global luxury motorcycle brand.

Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company, said:

“The establishment of the new Italian Global Centre of Excellence marks another milestone in strengthening our capabilities and accelerating our journey to reimagine mobility. By combining the creativity and racing expertise of Engines Engineering with our engineering strengths, we are expanding our ability to deliver premium, connected, and electric vehicles that set new global benchmarks. Importantly, this Centre of Excellence augments Norton’s capabilities, enabling it to advance its craft of exceptional high-performance motorcycles.”

Key Focus Areas of the Global CoE:

      • Design & Engineering Leadership – Advancing digital simulation, rapid prototyping, and modular platform development for next-generation vehicles.

      • Future Mobility Technologies – Driving innovation in AI-powered design tools, sustainable materials, and connected vehicle ecosystems.

      • Global Collaboration & Talent Development – Building a hub for world-class talent while fostering partnerships with universities, startups, and technology leaders.

      Driving Future Mobility Solutions

With this initiative, TVS Motor will accelerate product development cycles, enhance design flexibility, and expand its global premium portfolio—including high-displacement motorcycles, advanced scooters, and new electric mobility platforms. The expanded engineering expertise will further position the company at the forefront of sustainable and intelligent mobility solutions.

This move underscores TVS Motor’s broader mission to transform global mobility by delivering innovative, sustainable, and premium products that elevate quality of life worldwide.
