Two new Macan EV models from Porsche have been introduced in India, with prices beginning at Rs 1.23 crore. The price of the opulent e-SUV, which was first available in India in a single Turbo trim, has since increased.

The pricing of the new Macan entry-level variant is Rs 1.23 crore, and the new 4S variant is priced at Rs 1.39 crore. Concurrently, the cost of the Macan Turbo EV has increased from Rs 1.65 crore to Rs 1.69 crore.

The entry-level variant gets a single, rear-mounted electric motor, which makes it the first Porsche SUV with a rear-wheel drive setup. The motor puts out 360hp and 563Nm torque, helping the Macan EV sprint from 0-100kph in 5.7 seconds before topping out at an electronically limited top speed of 220kph. The mid-level Macan 4S EV makes use of two electric motors, producing a combined 516hp (with power overboost), and 820Nm peak torque. The Macan 4S EV dashes from 0-100kph in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 240kph.

Porsche has also added a new exterior colour option – Slate Grey Neo, along with new 20-inch Macan S alloy wheels that are optional. A new off-road design package is also optionally available for the entire range which increases the approach angle and enhances the ground clearance by 10mm.

All three trim levels are equipped with a 100kWh battery pack. While the range-topping Macan Turbo EV offers a 591km range, the Macan 4S EV offers a 606km range. The entry-level Macan boasts the highest range of up to 641km on a single charge. The e-SUV gets an 800V charging architecture of the PPE platform that enables a DC charging capacity of up to 270kW. With a suitable fast charger, the Macan EV’s battery can be juiced up from 10 to 80 percent in 21 minutes.

The Porsche Macan goes up against luxury electric SUVs such as Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes EQE SUV, and even the BMW iX. Bookings for the two new variants are open, with deliveries set to commence later this year.
