In a landmark step toward India’s energy independence, Ola Electric has officially commenced deliveries of its much-anticipated S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) electric scooter, powered by the company’s indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell.

This milestone marks Ola Electric as India’s first EV manufacturer to design, develop, and produce its battery cells and packs entirely in-house, reinforcing the nation’s capabilities in advanced clean energy technology.

      India’s First 4680 Bharat Cell-Powered Scooter

The S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) is the first EV to feature Ola’s homegrown 4680 Bharat Cell battery, offering greater range, improved performance, and enhanced safety. The advanced battery system ensures 320 km of IDC range (with DIY mode) and is backed by a powerful 13 kW motor that accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.1 seconds—making it one of the fastest electric scooters in its segment.

Speaking on the announcement, an Ola Electric spokesperson said:

“With deliveries of 4680 Bharat Cell powered vehicles underway, we’re taking a giant leap toward achieving true energy independence. This milestone isn’t just about the 4680 Bharat Cell — it’s about India owning the future of energy and mobility. Our in-house cell technology allows us to build EVs with superior range, performance, and safety — all designed and made in India.”

      ARAI-Certified and Future-Ready

Ola’s 4680 Bharat Cell recently received ARAI certification under the latest AIS-156 Amendment 4 standards issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), reaffirming its compliance with India’s highest safety and quality benchmarks.

      Power, Performance & Premium Features

The S1 Pro+ comes with four dynamic riding modes—hyper, sport, normal, and eco—that cater to diverse riding preferences. It features dual-channel ABS, disc brakes on both wheels, and a range of comfort and aesthetic upgrades, including:

      • Two-tone ergonomic seat

      • Body-colored mirrors

      • New die-cast aluminum grab handle

      • Rim decals

      • Expanded color palette featuring Passion Red, Porcelain White, Jet Black, Stellar Blue, and more
