As part of its ambitious aim to introduce 30 electric motorbike models worldwide by 2030, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced the debut of two new electric commuter models, the CUV e: and ICON e:. These most recent models, which were unveiled at a press conference in Indonesia, stand for the tenth and eleventh models in the lineup, demonstrating Honda’s dedication to growing its line of electric vehicles (EVs).
CUV e: A 110cc-equivalent electric scooter meant for city riding, the CUV e is powered by two Honda Mobile Power Pack e: swappable batteries. Its efficient motor technology, which offers a greater range and improved energy efficiency, complements its elegant, simple appearance. In addition, the CUV e has three riding modes (STANDARD, SPORT, and ECON) and a reverse mode for navigating confined situations. The scooter also has connection via Honda RoadSync Duo®, which enables customers to pair their devices with Bluetooth® for calls and navigation.
ICON e: Based on the EM1 e:, the ICON e: is classified as a Class 1 moped in Japan and has a fixed ternary lithium-ion battery. Convenience and functionality are combined in the updated model with useful features like under-seat storage, a USB charging port, and a digital LCD dashboard. With a more than 50 km cruising range on a single charge, the ICON e: provides a clean, quiet ride that makes it perfect for daily use in urban settings.
Honda wants to increase the availability and adaptability of electric motorcycles for riders everywhere by producing both models in Indonesia and progressively introducing them to other markets. By achieving carbon neutrality in motorcycle production by the 2040s, Honda hopes to further solidify its position as a pioneer in sustainable mobility solutions. This action is in line with that goal.
