Delhi government’s enterprise Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (DTIDC) has undertaken the project to build these public charging stations.

The charging stations will have GPS and real-time-kinematic solutions to establish accurate positioning of all the existing features of the sites, including boundary measurements, coordinates of all corner points, buildings and other site features.

The customers will be charged under Rs 2 per unit at the new public charging stations, compared with the rate of Rs 10-15 per unit in other states, the Delhi government said.

Sources said that apart from these 100 public charging stations, which were being installed through an open tender, the Delhi government also planned to add 20 more sites to the transport department in the next phase of installation.

“The public charging stations are visible from roads and have large ‘Switch Delhi’ signs, apart from an overall bright green colour scheme,” reported sources.

The Delhi government plans to open 100 new charging stations across the city by September this year.
