Cummins India Limited, a leading provider of power solutions, has launched REDEFINE 2025, the eighth edition of its flagship B-school case study competition aimed at nurturing the next generation of business leaders. The competition invites students from 19 premier business schools across India to tackle real-world challenges in the evolving energy sector.
The theme for this year, “From Backup to Backbone: Driving the Energy Shift”, focuses on addressing the transition to sustainable energy, including renewable integration, decarbonisation, and emerging service-led models such as Energy-as-a-Service and grid-connected solutions. Participants are encouraged to explore innovative solutions that can meet evolving energy needs in a sustainable and impactful manner.
Anupama Kaul, Human Resources Leader at Cummins India, said,
“REDEFINE 2025 serves as a transformative platform to empower students to think critically and innovate solutions to tackle real-world challenges. We are excited to see how participants will leverage this opportunity to bring fresh perspectives that strengthen the energy value chain and drive the energy shift.”
Subramanian Chidambaran, Chief Strategy Officer, Cummins India, added,
“Through REDEFINE, we aim to create a collaborative ecosystem where students can explore breakthrough solutions to today’s pressing energy challenges. By engaging with the brightest talent from India’s business schools, we look forward to discovering ideas that advance sustainable practices and accelerate the transition toward a cleaner future.”
The competition is open to first- and second-year students enrolled in flagship PGP/PGDM/PGDBM/MBA programmes. It features multiple rounds, culminating in a two-day grand finale at Cummins India’s Pune campus on November 13–14, 2025. The winning team will receive a cash prize and an exclusive mentorship opportunity with Cummins India’s leadership team.
