Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has signed a deal with Trinity Cleantech Private Limited to build up Electric 3-Wheeler and Electric 2-Wheeler DC Fast Charging Points in Uttar Pradesh.

BPCL and TCPL inked a three-year agreement that can be extended for another two years under mutually agreed-upon terms and circumstances.

As part of this deal, TCPL will begin its first installation in Ayodhya at BPCL Energy Stations and assist the introduction of EV vehicles for the Temple opening ceremony, which would be presided over by the Prime Minister of India.

TCPL will initially focus on cities such as Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Noida, Saharanpur and Agra in the state of Uttar Pradesh to set up DC Fast Charging Stations at BPCL Outlets in the state.

Rahul Tandon, Chief General Manager (Marketing) Retail, BPCL said, “The pooling of resources in the public and private sectors to create necessary infrastructure is a great way to promote electric mobility.”

TCPL will be in charge of installing EV fast-charging stations at BPCL Retail Outlets in accordance with BPCL regulations as well as Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) civil and electrical work guidelines. As part of the deal, DC Fast Chargers would be co-branded and placed in BPCL shops across key cities in Uttar Pradesh.

TCPL, a prominent charge point operator with over 800 EV charging stations around the nation, will oversee the DC Fast Charging Stations’ safety, operations, and maintenance. They will also oversee creating demand, addressing consumer complaints, and overseeing the operation and maintenance of fast charging stations.

This association will pave way to eliminating range anxiety in a one of its kind initiatives in India, where these charging points can handle vehicles of 20V to 120V with a current dispensing capacity of 100 Amps per hr. The same would enable an electric 2-wheeler of 20Ah battery to get fully charged in less than 12 mins making it a perfect solution for busy urban roads and especially for commercial drivers and delivery agents.

TCPL has laid a strong foundation for charging infrastructure through its intelligent substations for smart charging solutions for all EVs. TCPL has created more than 30 MW of charging infra till date.
