Youdha, the electric mobility division of the Lohia Global Group, has unveiled a comprehensive expansion roadmap to strengthen its presence in India’s rapidly growing L5 commercial EV segment, which includes electric passenger autos and cargo loaders. With over 1.3 million such vehicles operating nationwide, the L5 category remains the largest contributor to India’s EV adoption, creating a strong need for robust after-sales and lifecycle support.

Focus on After-Sales and Spare Parts Growth

Youdha aims to increase its aftermarket revenue from the current 10–12% to nearly 30% within the next two years. To achieve this, the company is significantly expanding its service and retail footprint to more than 500 touchpoints. It is also setting up regional stocking hubs in Delhi NCR, Lucknow, and Kolkata to ensure faster availability of high-demand components, including controllers, brake assemblies, tyres, and suspension parts.

Ayush Lohia, CEO of Youdha, emphasised the importance of vehicle uptime in the commercial EV category.

“In the L5 category, an operator’s income is directly linked to vehicle availability. Our expansion across spares and service is designed to meet that expectation,” he said.

Cloud-Based Predictive Maintenance Platform Coming Soon

In line with India’s shift toward software-led EV ecosystems, Youdha is preparing to launch a cloud-based predictive maintenance platform. This system will track battery health, controller performance, motor behaviour, and temperature fluctuations in real time—helping fleet operators reduce breakdowns, improve safety, and enhance operating efficiency. The company expects software-enabled maintenance to emerge as a major value driver as EV electronics become more advanced.

Retail Network and Component Accessibility Expansion

To improve access to fast-moving components, Youdha plans to open over 200 exclusive spare parts outlets across northern, eastern, and central India. Additionally, the company will establish 80–100 retail experience centres in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where L5 EV sales and utilisation remain the strongest.

      Product Pipeline and Future Plans

At the product level, Youdha is expanding its lineup with the E5 Passenger and E5 Cargo models. The company also plans to introduce an all-new L5 platform in 2026 featuring modular batteries, enhanced integration, and telematics readiness to support modern fleet requirements.

      Market Outlook

The L5 passenger and cargo segment accounts for over half of India’s EV registrations and is projected to grow by 6–7% in E3W sales by FY26. The aftermarket alone represents a ₹4,500–₹5,000 crore opportunity over the next three years. This rapid shift closely aligns with Youdha’s expansion roadmap.

“Commercial EVs will continue driving volume growth in the near term,” Lohia added. Our goal is to build a full-stack ecosystem covering vehicles, components, diagnostics, and service.”
