Volvo is gearing up to make waves in the electric vehicle (EV) market with the highly anticipated ES90, set to debut on March 5, 2025. This luxury sedan promises next-gen technology, smarter driving features, and a bold new design.

Details regarding the ES90’s remarkable battery technology, AI-driven safety features, and futuristic cabin experience are finally coming to light after months of Volvo teasing the vehicle.

The Volvo ES90’s main features include:

      • AI assistance: Voice-activated automation and next-generation AI assistance, which is smarter than before.
      • Extended Battery Life: It is anticipated that the battery would last more than 600 km between charges.
      • Scandinavian design:  with a high-tech cockpit combines luxury and minimalism.

A step closer to completely autonomous driving is Level 3 Autonomous Driving.

Because of these features, it directly competes with the Mercedes EQS and Tesla Model S.

According to reports, Volvo has improved energy efficiency, resulting in faster charging than before.

      • Faster Charging: It takes less than 20 minutes to charge 80%.
      • Extended Lifespan: These batteries have twice the lifespan of typical lithium-ion batteries.
      • Increased Safety: There is a lower chance of fire dangers or overheating.

Although Volvo has not formally disclosed the ES90’s pricing, industry insiders predict that the base model will start at about ₹90 lakh ($110,000). High-end models with longer battery life, upscale interiors, and autonomous driving may cost more than ₹1.2 crore ($140,000).

In the luxury EV market, the ES90 will directly compete with the Tesla Model S and be less expensive than the Mercedes EQS if these numbers are accurate. To make it more accessible, Volvo may, nevertheless, use distinct price schemes in different areas.

Leaked sources indicate several “hidden upgrades” that may surprise everyone, even though official specifications are still being kept under wraps:

      • Augmented Reality: A futuristic driving experience is the Augmented Reality (AR) Head-Up Display.
      • Biometric Security: Unlocking using fingerprint and face recognition.
      • Self-Healing Paint: Small dings may “heal” themselves.
