Volttic EV Charging SolutionsVolttic is end to end EV Charging solutions provider where it provides EV Chargers integrated with cloud base backend monitoring system based on OCPP 1.6 and also the services for installation and maintenance. Volttic offers one stop solution for all the home & commercial charging needs. As a business model the company operates in 3 ways- EV Charger sales (Home chargers), Commercial Charging & Software subscription CMS services. More dominant is commercial charging where it has captive and public charging stations available as solutions. During an e-mail interaction with Nitisha from BISinfotech, Surendra Pratap Singh, Co-founder, Volttic EV Charging Solutions mentioned, apart from subsidy, the government should also focus on sustainability part for EVs charging business.

Kindly explain Volttic EV Charging solutions and its special offerings?

The main motive to start Volttic is to have balanced approach towards business, where we can contribute to our social responsibility. We clubbed our objective with business approach where we can generate employment and revenue as well. So, we were thinking to do something which covers both aspects. However with support and trust of our client, partner and commitment of our team, we are successfully running it from last four years. We have got early mover advantage as well in market as we are one of the leading EV Charging company who is working since 2016-17 when Indian Government starting pushing for Electric mobility.

How does Volttic differentiate itself with other EV charging companies?

We are proud to mention that we are only using Make in India products and our complete charging solutions is based on the theme of our “MAKE IN INDIA MISSION”. One of the biggest reasons of our success is that we are a self dependent team of young energetic professionals. In terms of solutions & Technology we are not dependent on others that are the need of our EV charging business.

We represent service based industry so we have to ensure 100 % service support to our partners as well as our customers and that could only be possible if you have all solutions with in your basket. As you know EV Charging industry is driven by approved charging standards and that are universal, So EVSE product technology is common for “VOLTTIC” and its competitor. What is going to give advantage is charging solutions as per client business model and need. We need flexible models where client get comfort rather getting tense for charging need and that is where Volttic is quite ahead of its competitor to match the need of client real demand. We catering home charging, B2B, B2C all type of client and charging at their doorstep and biggest thing value added services from charging platform.

Our complete end to end solutions have EV chargers as hardware, CMS software platform for billing & monitoring with our complete 24×7 service support. Software platform is the back bone of commercial charging business where we are having flexibility to adopt any business model as per our clients need and that is where we are getting more thrust in market.

Kindly highlight any unique project you are working on and also launch in the loop of coming time?

Currently, we are operating more than 200+ charge point all across India with mix models of AC & DC EV chargers. Presently, we are focusing more on Metro & Tier-1 cities and then from 2023 will add Tier 2 cities and subsequent Tier 3 cities as well. We are targeting multiple segments of personal and commercial charging users like fleet clients, real-estate, hospitality, shopping malls, fuel station, services station, auto dealers and parking operators, etc.

As the Indian government has extensive plans for EV and charging stations in India, what are your expectations? Please explain.

As an EV charging infrastructure company, we are facing challenges in terms of land/location identification and electrical infra availability for developing charging stations. DISCOM especially state government owned should have to implement EV policy on faster manner along with quick support on installations. Location owner should also facilitate this initiative. FAME subsidy route is also not friendly to private players. EVs subsidy is coming from OEM directly then why not on EV Chargers directly. The subsidy should come from OEM and users should get the direct benefits rather than first do the installation and then run and then get subsidy with limited numbers. EV charging infra side government has to take serious note to make its more sustainable rather than only subsidy part.

How was the year 2019-2020 in terms of business? What will be your future marketing plan?

As we know, last year as well as current time is tough for all of us because of COVID-19. We are facing downfall in all major segments. But, we did a great business during FY 2019-20 with 300% growth as compared FY-2018-19. We have good numbers of business plan for future expansions. We are working on that and in coming time we will announce the same.

Kindly explain the challenges and scope in the industry?

As of now, the major challenge is the high upfront cost of EVs, where personal buyers have limited options available. FAME subsidy is not available for personal segment. Also, the available models are not affordable to many buyers and ‘affordability’ is a key factor in Indian consumer mindset. But, we feel by 2023-24 these prices can be matched with affordable EVs model and this will be majority driven by battery price, technology advancement.
