Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast has accelerated its India expansion by launching 24 new dealerships across major cities, which is an important advance toward its goal of establishing 35 retail outlets by the end of 2025. This move underscores the company’s commitment to becoming a major player in India’s fast-growing EV market and supporting the nation’s clean mobility ambitions.
Nationwide Retail Network Expansion
VinFast’s newly inaugurated dealerships are strategically located across India, including Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Agra, Nagpur, Baroda, Rajkot, and Surat. With this extensive presence, VinFast aims to make its electric vehicles more accessible to customers across both metropolitan and emerging markets.
Each dealership has been designed following VinFast’s global retail standards, offering a premium and immersive customer experience. The showrooms feature modern layouts, advanced vehicle displays, and digital engagement zones to ensure a seamless purchasing journey for customers.
Commitment to India’s EV Growth
The expansion aligns with India’s mission to achieve 30% EV penetration by 2030. VinFast’s growing retail footprint will play a crucial role in driving EV adoption by providing localized access to vehicles, after-sales service, and charging support.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Tapan Ghosh, CEO of VinFast India, stated:
“India’s enthusiasm for sustainable mobility is inspiring. Launching 24 dealerships across the country reflects our long-term commitment to this dynamic market. We aim to provide Indian customers with world-class electric vehicles backed by strong service and charging infrastructure. This is just the beginning of our journey to make clean mobility a mainstream reality in India.”
Building a Comprehensive EV Ecosystem
In addition to retail expansion, VinFast is developing a holistic EV ecosystem through partnerships with key Indian companies such as myTVS, RoadGrid, Castrol India, and Global Assure. These collaborations aim to enhance charging infrastructure, after-sales service, and roadside assistance, ensuring an integrated ownership experience for EV buyers.
The company is also making significant progress on its manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, which spans 400 acres. The plant is designed to assemble models like the VinFast VF 6 and VF 7, with an initial capacity of 50,000 units per year, scalable up to 150,000 units annually. Once operational, the facility is expected to create 3,000–3,500 direct jobs and thousands of indirect employment opportunities, boosting India’s EV manufacturing ecosystem.
Strengthening VinFast’s Global Vision
The India rollout is part of VinFast’s broader global strategy to expand its footprint beyond Southeast Asia and North America. With its focus on localized production, strong dealership network, and customer-first approach, VinFast aims to position itself as a premium yet accessible EV brand for Indian consumers.
As India continues to push toward electrification and sustainability, VinFast’s rapid retail and manufacturing expansion demonstrates its confidence in the Indian market and its commitment to supporting the country’s clean mobility transformation.
