Beginning this summer, Chevrolet will include its well-liked off-road Trail Boss model in the 2026 Silverado EV lineup.
The recently released raised off-road package, which was previously offered on the Silverado and Colorado, gives buyers the extra capabilities they anticipate from a Trail Boss together with the advantages of an electric truck.
Since its debut on the 2019 Silverado, the Trail Boss trim has been one of our best-selling models, according to Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet. Customers now have an option that expands on Silverado EV’s robust truck heritage, long electric range, and off-road capabilities with the addition of Trail Boss.
More capability
According to Silverado EV lead engineer Joe Roy, “The Silverado EV Trail Boss delivers similar capability expected with other Chevy Trail Bosses.” “It’s an amazing truck that will satisfy our customers’ demands for off-road driving while maintaining all the features they have grown to love about the Silverado EV, such as range and off-road power.”
The Trail Boss offers 24% more ground clearance than the basic Silverado EV thanks to its 2-inch lift. A hydraulic rebound control system allows for a unique tuning of the coil suspension.
Trim-exclusive Terrain mode provides more control while navigating places with uneven terrain and is accessible at low speeds. Terrain mode enables sharper 4-Wheel Steer than Normal mode, which helps drivers better regulate torque and traction at low speeds. With additional drive modes including Sidewinder and off-road, the Silverado EV Trail Boss is prepared for any adventure.
All four wheels may turn in the same direction and propel the truck diagonally at low speeds thanks to the sidewinder, which was initially installed on RST trim vehicles. The option, which can be chosen from the infotainment screen, offers drivers a fresh approach to navigating difficult terrain and confined parking areas.
With the extended range battery pack, the Trail Boss model can tow up to 12,500 lbs and carry 2,100 lbs of payload. The Max Range battery pack offers up to 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque.
Boss Like Look
Beyond its capabilities, the Silverado EV Trail Boss has a strong, bold design that makes it look like an off-road vehicle. It has the following trim-exclusive design elements:
- High-angle approach front fascia
- Rugged 35-inch all-terrain tires with unique 18-inch wheels
- Exterior badging
- Unique interior
- Red front tow hooks
Auxiliary switches are readily available for additional lights and other features for individuals wishing to personalise their setup.
There are nine exterior colour options for the Silverado EV, including three new ones: Magnus Grey Matte Metallic, White Sands, and Polar White Tricoat.
Driver assist updates
Additionally, Silverado EV provides Super Cruise 6 features, such as Google Maps integration that makes it easy to choose the right lane for your selected route on routes with Super Cruise capability.
Additionally, while your hands stay on the steering wheel, the recently added hands-on technology helps you stay in your lane and adjusts to the speed of the car in front of you. The steering wheel lightbar then goes green and hands-free driving kicks on for extra comfort when you get to a road that supports Super Cruise.
Additionally, the driver can now choose to have adaptive cruise control automatically modify the speed to meet posted speed restrictions. On LT and Trail Boss, Super Cruise with towing is an option.
A full lineup
Chevrolet provides a Silverado EV for every budget, need, and lifestyle with three trim levels: Work Truck, LT, and Trail Boss. To provide consumers more options, the Silverado EV portfolio has grown, and the company is now discontinuing the RST launch trim. With a starting MSRP of $54,895, the 2026 Silverado EV maintains its popular features:
- Up to kW of off-board power available on all trims
- Multi-Flex Midgate available on LT and Trail Boss
- WOW mode to unlock max horsepower and torque available on LT and Trail Boss
- 22-inch wheels available on WT and LT
- A 17.7-inch-diagonal centre infotainment screen paired with an 11-inch-diagonal driver information centre is standard on all trims, including Work Truck, for the first time.
The Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Centre in Michigan, the starting point for GM’s multi-brand all-EV strategy, assembles the Silverado EV using components obtained both domestically and internationally.
