ThunderPlus, India’s fastest-growing EV charging network, and BijliRide, a leading SaaS-powered electric two-wheeler rental platform have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the accessibility, convenience, and reliability of electric mobility across India. The collaboration focuses on eliminating range and charge anxiety among public commuters and gig-economy workers by integrating battery-swapping and fast-charging solutions across the ThunderPlus network.
As part of this partnership, all 250+ ThunderPlus hubs will now feature BijliRide battery-swapping machines, enabling both B2C customers and B2B gig workers to swap batteries quickly and continue their journeys with minimal downtime. In addition, ThunderPlus has introduced its flagship “Thunder Tej” 12 kW LEVDC fast charger for two- and three-wheelers under the campaign “Chai Pe Charge.” The fast charger allows electric two-wheelers to reach up to 80% battery capacity in just 10 minutes, the perfect duration for a tea break.
“At ThunderPlus, we believe in collaboration over competition. All our partnerships aim to deepen EV penetration and strengthen India’s charging infrastructure. Through this partnership, ThunderPlus hubs evolve beyond fast-charging centers to become multi-activity economic hubs offering both fast charging and battery swapping,” said Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus.
Hyderabad, BijliRide’s launch city, continues to lead India’s EV adoption journey. With a dynamic mix of professionals, students, and gig workers, the city serves as an ideal testbed for BijliRide’s hub-and-spoke (STAR) expansion model. “Our objective is clear to make sustainable mobility more accessible and convenient for everyone in Hyderabad. With ThunderPlus’s robust infrastructure network and BijliRide’s rental ecosystem, we’re creating integrated pickup and drop-off points that offer battery swapping, charging, and quick service support. This partnership is a step toward a reliable and connected urban commuting ecosystem,” said Shivam Sisodiya, CEO & Co-Founder, BijliRide.
The partnership ensures that every EV user is just minutes away from a service point, enhancing convenience and minimizing downtime. “ThunderPlus is excited to collaborate with BijliRide to make EV rentals and charging truly accessible across Hyderabad. Together, we are transforming how people experience electric mobility, creating touchpoints that make it easier, faster, and more reliable for users to charge, ride, and return EVs,” added Rajeev YSR.
Building on the success in Hyderabad, BijliRide plans to replicate this model across major Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, scaling its infrastructure through strategic partnerships like this one. The STAR model, starting with BijliRide’s flagship 24/7 operational hub in Madhapur, Hyderabad, will evolve into a city-wide network for sustainable commuting, integrating rentals, battery swapping, and charging under a single platform. Together, ThunderPlus and BijliRide are creating a unified, future-ready EV ecosystem that makes clean, connected, and convenient mobility a reality for millions of users.
