Two unique EV retail locations under the TATA.ev brand have opened in Kochi by Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), a division of Tata Motors and a pioneer in India’s EV revolution. The goal of the two stores, which are situated in Edappally and Kalamassery, is to reinvent the experience of buying and owning an EV while meeting the changing needs of India’s expanding EV community.

Consumer behavior is changing as the nation sees a spike in the use of electric vehicles (EVs), with consumers desiring a more sophisticated and individualized experience from start to finish. In response to these needs, the TATA.ev brand presents a consumer-facing identity that prioritizes sustainability, community, and technology. The new retail locations, which are intended to give EV aficionados a warm and educational environment, embody these ideals.

Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, said, “Kerala has been at the forefront of adopting future technologies, making it the ideal location for our new TATA.ev stores. Our goal is to democratize EVs for the mass market while offering a premium and digitized ownership experience,” said Chandra. He also announced plans to open five exclusive EV service centers across key cities in Kerala, further enhancing the brand’s commitment to the electric revolution.

With a floor area of more than 8,800 square feet, the TATA.ev store in Edappally is the brand’s largest EV retail location in India. It displays the new TATA.ev Originals accessory line and has a dedicated 60 kW DC fast charger. In addition, a 17-bay specialized EV service facility with the ability to service over 800 vehicles each month is scheduled to open in the near future.

TPEM’s initiatives mark a significant step towards advancing India’s EV infrastructure, offering a premium experience to cater to the discerning needs of the modern EV consumer.
