Electric motocross has just hit a whole new level. Stark Future has officially launched the VARG MX 1.2, a smarter, stronger, and more powerful evolution of its groundbreaking electric dirt bike platform. Designed to dominate the motocross world, this new machine boasts significant upgrades in performance, range, and technology—raising the bar not just for electric bikes, but for the entire industry.

      Power Meets Precision

At its core, the VARG MX 1.2 retains the same blistering 80 hp (60 kW) electric motor that made the original VARG a standout, effortlessly outperforming traditional 450cc gas-powered motocross bikes. But with the 1.2, Stark has introduced on-the-fly power customization, allowing riders to dial output between 10 and 80 hp (7.5–60 kW). Enhanced control over power delivery and regenerative braking means the bike can mimic an entire garage of machines, each tuned to perfection.

      Rugged Tech Integration

In a bold move, Stark has replaced the usual handlebar screen with a powerful new tool: the Arkenstone. This rugged, handlebar-mounted Android device acts as the bike’s smart control center, allowing riders to toggle ride modes, track lap times, access real-time GPS, and analyze course data—all without third-party apps. The company partnered with a major mapping provider to power the new “Laps” feature, which delivers split times and terrain information in real time.

      Performance Upgrades Across the Board

A new 7.2 kWh battery, encased in a lightweight magnesium honeycomb shell, delivers 20% more range, translating to longer and harder rides. Meanwhile, the bike continues to output a staggering 973 Nm of torque at the rear wheel, a figure that’s almost surreal for motocross machines.

Stark also focused on weight savings and ride feel with an all-new steel alloy chassis, cutting nearly 1 kg while enhancing frame feedback. The KYB suspension has been retuned for even more versatility, offering 310 mm of travel and customizable spring rates based on rider weight—unprecedented adjustability in the motocross world.

Tested by Legends, Tuned for Champions

The bike isn’t just a concept—it’s been race-tested. Legendary rider Kevin Windham praised its natural feel and response, saying, “I’ve ridden everything there is to ride, and this is the future.” He was joined by Sébastien Tortelli, two-time World Champion and head of Stark’s racing program, who emphasized that the MX 1.2 was shaped by real-world feedback and competitive racing conditions.

      Durability, Sustainability, and Minimal Maintenance

Durability enhancements include a new overmolded wiring harness, biodegradable skid plate, and optional titanium hardware that can shave an extra 900 grams. A more efficient gearbox, tire options from Dunlop or Pirelli, and a redesigned powertrain layout complete the performance package.

Best of all, the VARG MX 1.2 is low-maintenance. With no pistons, filters, or clutches to replace, Stark claims owners can save up to $5,000 over 100 hours of ride time versus traditional gas bikes. The company also offers a two-year warranty, a rarity in the motocross world.

Competitive Pricing for a Premium Machine

Despite its premium performance and advanced tech, Stark Future has kept pricing surprisingly competitive, making the VARG MX 1.2 a serious contender not just for electric enthusiasts but for anyone considering a high-end motocross bike.

With the MX 1.2, Stark Future hasn’t just kept up with gas bikes—it’s redefined what motocross can be.
