Siemens has officially unveiled its SICHARGE FLEX, a next-generation electric vehicle (EV) charging system designed to meet the growing demand for high-power, scalable, and flexible charging infrastructure. Introduced at Busworld 2025, the platform is aimed at transforming EV charging for fleet depots, logistics hubs, and public transportation networks, addressing the evolving needs of both passenger vehicles and commercial EV fleets.
High-Power Charging for Diverse Vehicles
The SICHARGE FLEX system delivers 480 kW to 1.68 MW of direct current (DC) power, making it suitable for a wide range of EVs—from passenger cars to heavy-duty electric trucks and buses. Its dynamic power distribution intelligently allocates energy across multiple charging points in real time, optimizing efficiency, throughput, and charging speed for fleets of any size.
Modular and Scalable Design
Designed for versatility, SICHARGE FLEX features a modular dispenser architecture that supports up to four Megawatt Charging System (MCS) points in a single setup. Dispensers can be positioned up to 300 meters from the central power cabinet, while their compact footprint (0.1 m² for CCS, 0.2 m² for MCS) allows deployment in space-constrained locations. This modular design ensures easy customization for large-scale depot operations or urban installations.
Real-World Deployment
The first SICHARGE FLEX installation is underway in Kufstein, Austria, a key corridor connecting Germany and Italy. Operated by OMV, the site will feature six fast-charging points for passenger vehicles, buses, and electric trucks, with plans to expand to ten outlets following grid upgrades. This deployment demonstrates Siemens’ commitment to delivering real-world, megawatt-scale charging solutions.
Integration with Siemens eMobility Ecosystem
SICHARGE FLEX integrates seamlessly with Siemens’ Sifinity Control cloud platform, enabling remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and operational optimization. Operators gain full visibility of charging infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and efficiency.
Driving the Future of Sustainable Mobility
Siemens’ SICHARGE FLEX sets a new benchmark for high-power EV charging, combining technical innovation, operational flexibility, and modular scalability. The system addresses critical challenges in charging speed, space utilization, and user convenience, reinforcing Siemens’ leadership in smart infrastructure and commitment to accelerating the global transition to sustainable mobility.
