We are pleased to report that Servotech Renewable Power System Limited has been awarded a contract by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) to build ten ultra-fast DC EV chargers, each with a capacity of 240 kW, at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru for airside EV operations.
Ten 240 kW ultra-fast DC EV chargers with a total installed capacity of 2.4 MW will be featured in the charging centre. This makes the installation the first and largest EV charging centre of its sort for airside EV operations in an Indian airport, allowing for quick turnaround times and greatly increasing the operational efficiency of the airport’s e-transport. The initiative’s charging station will be positioned thoughtfully throughout the airport grounds to support electric buses that transport passengers between terminals and aircraft. It will also enable round-the-clock airside EV operations, which will further reduce the airport’s transportation carbon emissions.
To ensure smooth operation and energy efficiency, Servotech Renewable will supervise the EV charging station’s supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and five-year maintenance as part of this project. It is anticipated that the installation of these chargers would help the airport transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future by drastically lowering emissions associated with transportation. By electrifying one of its busiest airports and advancing green initiatives in the state capital, this project represents a significant step towards Karnataka’s goal of being a carbon-negative state.
As part of this project, Servotech Renewable will oversee the supply, building, testing, commissioning, and five-year maintenance of the EV charging station to guarantee seamless operation and energy efficiency. By significantly reducing transportation-related emissions, the installation of these chargers is expected to aid the airport’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future. This project is a major step towards Karnataka’s objective of becoming a carbon-negative state by powering one of its busiest airports and promoting green activities in the state capital.
