Routematic, a corporate mobility service provider, has deployed an electric vehicle (EV) fleet in Chennai as part of its employee transportation services. The company has commenced operations at numerous customer locations in DLF Cyber City (DLF IT Park), with the goal of providing corporate personnel with round-the-clock commuting options.

The rollout is part of Routematic’s ongoing efforts to incorporate more sustainable practices into its operations. The EV fleet will be used for employee commuting across all shifts, in line with larger efforts to reduce environmental impact and promote greener mobility solutions.

India’s electric mobility sector has been expanding rapidly, supported by policy initiatives, technological improvements, and increased awareness around environmental issues. According to data from the Ministry of Heavy Industries, over one million electric vehicles were sold in the country during FY 2024–25. Routematic’s move is in line with this national trend toward electric transportation.

“We have introduced our EV fleet in Chennai to support sustainable corporate mobility,” said Sriram Kannan, Founder and CEO of Routematic. “Ensuring efficient and secure transportation for employees is essential for businesses that operate throughout the day and night.”

Kavitha Ramachandragowda, Co-Founder and Executive Director at Routematic, said the expansion reflects the company’s broader approach to offering reliable and environmentally responsible commuting solutions to corporate clients.

Routematic uses a Transport-as-a-Service (TaaS) model that integrates electric vehicles with digital fleet management and optimization tools. The company’s services are designed to support organizations with ongoing transportation needs, particularly those running continuous shifts.

Founded to address the challenges of daily office commutes, Routematic currently operates in over 23 cities across India, working with more than 275 corporate clients and serving approximately 300,000 monthly users. Its services include corporate mobility technology solutions and transport operations using its dedicated fleet. Routematic has received industry recognition in the past, including a NASSCOM award for innovation and a runner-up spot in a mobility startup challenge organized by VIA ID in Singapore.
