      Oben Electric has revealed an ambitious network expansion plan and laid forth ambitions to raise US$ 20 million (Rs 166 crore) through a new fundraising campaign. In addition to strengthening its position in Bengaluru and expanding into important areas like Delhi, Pune, and Kerala, it now intends to open 50 additional showrooms and service facilities in 12 significant Indian cities by the end of this year.

      Oben Electric has opened a new showroom in Pitampuram, Delhi, while its retail store in Pune is situated in the Wakad neighbourhood. The brand’s presence in Kerala has increased with the opening of dealership showrooms in Kochi and Trivandrum. at addition to the current experience facility at HSR Layout, several prominent showroom locations in Bengaluru, such as Banashankari, Rajajinagar, and Electronic City, have recently opened. Electric now maintains eight showrooms in these strategic locations.

      The company currently retails its sole product – the flagship electric motorcycle, Oben Rorr. The Rorr features an 8 kW IPMSM motor, accelerating from 0-40kph in 3 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 100kph and a certified range of 187km (IDC).

      Commenting on the expansion prospects, Madhumita Agrawal, founder and CEO of Oben Electric, stated, “With our strategic entry into the vibrant markets of Delhi, Pune, and Kerala, alongside our continued growth in Bengaluru, we are solidifying our position as an emerging leader in India’s electric vehicle industry. Our commitment to leading the EV revolution nationwide is evident as we focus on building a strong network of showrooms and service centers pan-India.”

      The new showrooms have dedicated areas for immersive customer experiences. Featuring interactive spaces, customers can explore the Oben Rorr up close, accompanied by a selection of accessories and merchandise for enthusiasts. These locations, also functioning as Oben Care service centres, provide end-to-end servicing and spare parts support.

      As per Vahan retail sales data, Oben Electric sold 50 electric motorcycles in CY2023. Between January 1 and May 28, 2024, the company has sold 77 Oben Rorrs.
