Indian EV battery solutions provider Neuron Energy has successfully raised ₹31 crore in a pre-series B funding round, aiming to scale up its electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing capacity and strengthen its presence in India’s rapidly growing EV ecosystem.

      Funding Round Details and Investors

The funding round was led by Equanimity Ventures, alongside notable participation from the Rajiv Dadlani Group, the Thackersay Family Office, the Chona Family Office, and other family offices and high-net-worth investors.

      • With this round, Neuron Energy’s total funding raised to date stands at approximately ₹81 crore.

      • The capital will be deployed to expand production capacity, enhance research and development, and accelerate domestic and international market growth.

      Expansion of Manufacturing Capacity

Neuron Energy plans to establish a fully automated, large-scale battery manufacturing plant at Chakan, Pune, aiming to increase its capacity to 3 GWh per year.

      • The facility will manufacture batteries for electric cars, four-wheelers, buses, and other commercial EV applications.

      • This expansion supports India’s localization push in EV manufacturing, reducing dependency on imports and strengthening domestic supply chains.

      Focus on R&D and Technology

      • Part of the funding will be used to strengthen R&D capabilities, enabling the company to develop advanced EV battery solutions for heavier vehicles and energy storage systems.

      • Neuron Energy’s low-CapEx, low-OpEx model aims to ensure scalable, cost-efficient, and sustainable battery production.

      Revenue Outlook and Market Potential

      • The company expects to generate ₹200 crore in revenue for the current financial year.

      • With the expanded production and diversified product portfolio, Neuron Energy targets ₹900–₹1,000+ crore in revenue over the next few years.

      • The company’s growth plans align with India’s EV adoption goals, supporting two-wheelers, four-wheelers, buses, and energy storage markets.

      Impact on India’s EV Ecosystem

      • The expansion of 3 GWh battery manufacturing capacity will help meet the increasing demand for EV batteries in India.

      • Localized production enhances strategic autonomy, reduces foreign import dependency, and strengthens India’s EV manufacturing ecosystem.

      • By targeting multiple EV segments, Neuron Energy is positioned to become a comprehensive battery solutions provider for India’s growing electric mobility sector.

      Conclusion:

The ₹31 crore Pre-Series B funding equips Neuron Energy to scale its EV battery manufacturing capacity, enhance R&D, and strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing EV market. With a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pune and ambitious growth plans, Neuron Energy is set to contribute significantly to India’s clean mobility and sustainable transport goals.
