In New Delhi, Rapido and Ministry of Labour and Employment have signed a memorandum of understanding to increase the employment opportunities of logistics through the National Career Service portal. Within one to two years, the partnership will create more than 50 lakh livelihood opportunities.
The National Career Service portal is a live portal that connects businesses and prospective job seekers in India with each other, Labour and Employment Minister Mandaviya stated during the event. With more than 40 lakh registered businesses and 1.75 crore active job seekers, he claimed the portal was taking a significant role in the mobilisation of labour.
The portal aims to enable a broad range of placements of employment, both local and global, and will also enable hyperlocal job match services. Most interestingly, it is noteworthy that this strategic initiative actively encourages women’s employment in the logistics industry by attempting to generate 5 lakh women-exclusive work opportunities.
