MG has officially launched the all-new 2025 MG4 EV, marking the debut of its second-generation electric hatchback. Unveiled in China, the new MG4 comes with significant design, performance, and technology upgrades compared to its predecessor.
The EV now measures 4,395 mm in length, 1,842 mm in width, and 1,551 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Despite its larger size, it is lighter and more efficient than the outgoing model.
Battery Options and Range
The 2025 MG4 EV is offered with two LFP battery packs—42.8 kWh and 53.9 kWh—delivering a CLTC-certified range of 437 km and 530 km, respectively. Both packs support fast charging, enabling a 30% to 80% top-up in just 20 minutes.
In addition, MG is introducing the Anxin Edition, equipped with a semi-solid-state battery of around 70 kWh. This version offers an extended 537 km range along with improved safety and cold-weather reliability.
Performance and Features
Powered by a 120 kW (161 hp) motor producing 250 Nm torque, the MG4 EV achieves a top speed of 160 km/h.
Inside, the hatchback features a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, and an operating system developed in collaboration with Oppo. Advanced safety comes through ADAS features, including 360° cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and driver-assist technologies.
India Launch Plans
The MG4 EV, first showcased at Auto Expo 2023, is expected to enter the Indian market by late 2025 or early 2026. Industry estimates suggest a starting price of around ₹30 lakh, positioning it as a premium electric hatchback for Indian buyers.
