Introduced in June 2022 at an introductory price of Rs 11.99 lakh, Mahindra Scorpio N sales have gone up due to the overwhelming response from buyers.

Mahindra Scorpio NMahindra & Mahindra has claimed to have gathered over 1 lakh bookings so far.

Though, the company will be able to deliver only 20,000 units by December 2022.

Mahindra Scorpio N deliveries will begin from 26th September 2022.

At present, Mahindra & Mahindra is producing 6,000 units of the Mahindra Scorpio N per month.

The company has already confirmed that the deliveries of the SUV’s top-end variants will be on priority.

Its waiting period is currently up to 22 months.

To reduce its waiting period and make on-time delivery, the company will increase its production in coming months.

The new Mahindra Scorpio N has been made available with two engine options – a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel.

The gasoline unit makes a maximum power of 200bhp and 370Nm (MT)/380Nm (AT) of torque. The oil burner promises 130bhp with 300Nm on lower variants and 175bhp with 370Nm (MT)/400Nm (AT) on higher variants. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

Now, the home-grown automaker is gearing up to launch a new electric SUV that’s reported to be named Mahindra XUV400.

It’s the electric version of the subcompact XUV300 SUV, but it will be longer than its ICE counterpart.

The automaker will source the high-energy-dense NMC batteries from LG Chem for the EV.

The cells are said to deliver more power and a longer range.

The electric SUV is likely to deliver a range of over 400km. Once launched, it will go up against the Tata Nexon EV Max.

Official details on the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 EV will be revealed next month.
