The subcommittee on industries of the Maharashtra Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, approved four significant technology-driven projects in Marathwada, Vidarbha, Pune, and Panvel, with a combined investment of ₹1.17 lakh crore. It is anticipated that these projects, which center on semiconductor and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing, will create 29,000 jobs.

CM Shinde emphasized the projects’ importance by saying that they will result in significant investments in the semiconductor and electric vehicle manufacturing industries, generating both direct and indirect job possibilities. In addition to promoting technological innovation and research and development, he underlined that these advances will establish Maharashtra as a leader in the electric car industry and aid micro, small, and medium-sized businesses by fortifying the local supply chain.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), in July, the subcommittee approved projects totaling ₹80,000 crore. The state is now expected to draw a total investment of ₹2 lakh crore, resulting in the creation of 35,000 employment, thanks to the latest sanction of ₹1.17 lakh crore.
