Lohum, India’s largest producer and processor of sustainable critical minerals and one of the largest outside China, announces the appointment of Mr. Arun Mittal as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lohum India, a part of Lohum Corporation, effective immediately. Mr. Mittal joins from Exide Energy, where he served as Managing Director & CEO.

Mr. Mittal brings nearly three decades of battery industry leadership to Lohum. His extensive experience includes spearheading Exide’s lithium-ion technology initiatives for e-mobility applications and expanding the company’s presence in Southeast Asia. As a member of ICAI (The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India), ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) and ICMAI (The Institute of Cost Accountants of India); Mr. Mittal combines deep industry knowledge with strong financial and governance expertise.

“I am committed to driving Lohum’s vision of fostering material circularity and advancing energy sustainability through the next stage of its growth,” expressed Mr. Mittal. “Our goal is to lead the transition towards a more sustainable future by reclaiming critical minerals and minimizing our environmental footprint.”

Rajat Verma, Founder & CEO of Lohum Corporation, commented, “Arun’s extensive background in the energy sector will be invaluable as we strive to enhance our position as a leader in sustainable battery materials. His strategic vision, operational excellence, and motivation for sustainability align perfectly with our goals of achieving zero waste and ensuring a responsible supply chain for critical minerals.”

The new appointment comes at a pivotal time as Lohum accelerates its mission to become the world’s largest producer of sustainable critical materials.
