We revealed a few weeks ago that Kinetic Green had submitted a design patent application for what looked to be an electric version of the original Kinetic Honda DX scooter for the twenty-first century. This scooter has now been observed undergoing testing, and there are some intriguing facts to discuss.
It is evident from the picture that this new electric scooter will have a boxy form and will resemble the original Kinetic Honda DX more than anything else. That fact is indicated by the boxy headlight and the other panels.
This particular test mule has red bodywork that is visible through all of the disguised stickering, which is an intriguing little touch. The red stitching on the seat is a nice touch, and it makes us think that other scooter colours might also have this feature.
A hub-mounted motor, a front disc brake, a twin shock absorber system, a central stand, and what look to be 12-inch wheels at both ends are among the visible mechanical components. Performance is probably going to be moderate, maybe in the iQube/Chetak ballpark, based on the hub-mounted motor.
We think that the Kinetic electric scooter is nearing completion because this test mule has no exposed wiring or sharp edges. Although its final location in the market is unknown, based on the pictures we have seen, this EV is probably going to be a useful, family-friendly product.
