Kia India, the country’s leading mass premium carmaker, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, promote a sustainable skilling ecosystem, and enhance placement opportunities in the automotive sector.

The partnership aims to prepare a future-ready workforce in line with India’s evolving mobility landscape, where electric vehicle (EV) adoption and customer experience are becoming critical drivers. The initiative will focus on equipping youth with technical skills, brand-specific knowledge, and workplace readiness.

As part of the programme, a specially designed 30-day immersive training module will be offered. This includes 15 days of foundational learning at ASDC-certified training centres covering core automotive concepts and dealership functions, followed by 15 days of hands-on experience at authorised Kia dealerships. The course integrates Kia-specific processes to familiarise trainees with the company’s standards, systems, and product knowledge.

Speaking on the collaboration, Mr Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “This collaboration with ASDC represents a pivotal step in Kia India’s commitment to shaping a future-ready ecosystem, anchored in skilled human capital and elevated customer experience. By creating a robust talent pool through structured training and certification, we are not only empowering India’s youth with meaningful employment but also reinforcing our dealer network with professionals who embody Kia’s values of quality, care, and innovation.”

Upon successful completion, candidates will be evaluated at an ASDC centre and awarded a joint certification from Kia India and ASDC, making them eligible for direct recruitment into sales and service roles at Kia dealerships.

This initiative aligns with national skilling objectives and aims to set a new benchmark in dealership workforce readiness while empowering young professionals with future-proof career opportunities.
