Kia Motors has achieved a major milestone with its Kia Charge service, now providing access to over one million electric vehicle (EV) charging points across 28 European countries, including more than 55,000 locations in the UK. This expansion reinforces Kia’s commitment to supporting its growing EV lineup, which includes the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, EV9, and PV5.

Integrated App Enhances EV Charging Experience

The updated Kia App integrates multiple services—Kia Connect, Kia Charge, MyKia, Kia Warranty Book, and Kia Owner’s Manual—into a single, user-friendly platform. Drivers can:

      • Locate charging stations across Europe

      • Track ongoing charging sessions

      • Manage subscription plans

      • Plan routes with integrated charging stops using the EV Route Planner, allowing users to set target battery levels for destinations

This seamless digital experience ensures EV drivers enjoy convenience and efficiency, whether commuting, traveling long distances, or managing fleet vehicles.

      Flexible Charging Solutions

Kia Charge offers flexible access to AC, DC, and high-power charging stations, with options including:

      • Free “Easy” tariff

      • Subscription-based “Plus” plan

The service also provides access to the IONITY high-power charging network, currently featuring 5,000 charging points across Europe, with a target of 13,000 stations by 2030. Subscription packages like IONITY Power and IONITY Ultra are accessible directly through the Kia App.

Plug&Charge functionality allows drivers to charge EVs at select stations without authentication cards or additional apps. Additionally, all Kia Charge sessions are powered by renewable energy, either directly or via certified renewable energy matching, contributing to Europe’s clean energy transition.

      Executive Statement

Marc Hedrich, President & CEO of Kia Europe, emphasized:

“Reaching one million charging points is a key milestone for Kia. We are committed to providing a comprehensive EV ecosystem—public, residential, and depot charging solutions—to facilitate the transition to sustainable mobility across Europe.”

      Conclusion: Driving Europe’s EV Adoption

With Kia Charge reaching this landmark, Kia continues to lead in EV infrastructure by offering accessible, renewable, and user-friendly charging solutions. This milestone enhances EV adoption, supports sustainable transportation, and positions Kia as a pioneer in Europe’s growing electric mobility ecosystem.
