Johnson Controls led the competition in smart building management platforms and was designated the overall leader for its platform. Out of nine platform suppliers, Johnson Controls OpenBlue received the highest implementation score when researchers evaluated its ecosystem of linked technologies and services.
“Buildings contribute nearly 40% of global emissions and new levels of efficiency and sustainability can only be achieved through digitalization. This acknowledgement that OpenBlue digital technology and services lead the market overall is a testament to our continued devotion to innovation and our commitment to building the smart buildings of the future,” said Vijay Sankaran, Chief Technology Officer, Johnson Controls.
Based on Johnson Controls’ dedication to providing both new and current clients with its highly effective OpenBlue platform and accompanying services, researchers gave the company the highest overall grade among the other providers.
“Johnson Controls OpenBlue architecture represents a cohesive and comprehensive suite of offerings to accelerate smart building management, build awareness, and increase adoption of smart buildings,” said Rithika Thomas, Industry Analyst at ABI Research.
Johnson Controls OpenBlue is a leading ecosystem of linked technology, knowledge, and services in the industry. OpenBlue Enterprise Manager (OBEM), a suite of software programmes that together provide a complete building performance management platform, was evaluated as part of this research in order to enable a new class of smart buildings that are safe, sustainable, and healthy. By combining data from all of the building’s systems and utility bills and utilising cutting-edge digital experiences enhanced by artificial intelligence, OBEM balances occupant comfort while offering more practical insights into cost savings and emission reduction than could be obtained with separate, less linked systems. Customers can also benefit from it by finding it easier to comply with building performance regulations and submit carbon disclosure reports.
Johnson Controls has established three OpenBlue Innovation Centres in India, strategically located in Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. The largest of the three centres, with over 300 engineers working there, is home to the company’s cutting-edge global research and development on artificial intelligence (AI), net zero buildings, and improvements in people’s health, safety, and comfort in buildings.
