On August 18, 2025, the Indian electric vehicle (EV) and automotive component market experienced mixed results as investor sentiment at key counters fluctuated. Some stocks rallied as buying momentum turned into support while others faced selling pressure.

Hero MotoCorp was the session’s biggest gainer, increasing 5.87% at ₹4,984, amid growing optimism on its widening portfolio of EVs. Uno Minda produced a solid rally gaining 6.14% at ₹1,220.30 with continued demand in the EV-ready components. JBM Auto and Minda Corporation were also up 3.36% and 3.14%, respectively, indicative of quite a bit of momentum in the auto parts sector.

Bosch was up 1.95% at ₹39,335 and Tata Motors was higher by 1.72% at ₹676, providing steadier signs of investor support for the auto players within the market capitalization. The small realms of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility and Exide Industries moved higher by 0.52% and 0.50%, rather similar movements would appear to be converging providing more stimulus within the Energy Storage vertical.

On the other hand, there were a host of stocks that declined, led by Uniparts India, falling 1.96% at ₹391.25, and Sona Comstar, which fell 1.53% at ₹444.95, which suggests investors were liquidating positions. Olectra Greentech fell 0.86% at ₹1,456.20, while Ola Electric fell slightly by 0.17% at ₹41.24, suggesting a more muted return for some EV companies.

In summary, the day of trade showed some firmness for companies directly aligned to EV adoption and components innovation despite some counters correcting. Analysts believe policy support, new items coming through the product pipeline, and sustained demand for EV components will see new investor interest through coming weeks.
