The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has launched three new electric buses that connect GIFT City to major transit points in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.

GIFT CityCurrently, buses run on three routes: Narol to GIFT City; Shantipura-SG Highway, to GIFT City; and Gandhinagar Pathikashram, to GIFT City.

These three routes were designed to meet the increasing demand for public transport, while also ensuring better connectivity between major transit points within Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.

Tapan Ray, MD and Group Chief Executive Officer of GIFT City said, “For a smart modern city such as GIFT City sustainability is the key to driving growth and development. Since its founding, GIFT City adopted green measures in order to make sure that growth did not harm the environment. We introduced electric mobility in GIFT City in the past year, and GSRTC’s latest introduction of three electric buses would benefit commuters going to and from GIFT City.”

GIFT City has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chartered Speed to provide electric vehicle transportation services. Four electric buses have already been deployed on different routes between Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and GIFT City.

GSRTC’s latest electric bus additions on three routes will make it easier for over 20,000 workers in GIFT City to stay connected at a reasonable cost.
