New companies like Suzuki and Yamaha will enter the Indian electric scooter market in the upcoming eight to nine months.

Honda entered the electric two-wheeler industry earlier this year in India with the Activa e and QC1 scooter models. In January, Suzuki also debuted the e-Access, its first electric scooter, at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. New Chetak and iQube models were also introduced in the domestic market by Bajaj and TVS, the leading companies in the e2w sector. Overall, from the perspective of EVs, the first half was jam-packed with activity. However, with a number of electric scooters prepared to take to Indian roads, the next six months should be much more exciting. Let’s take a closer look at these models.

      1. Yamaha RY01

By the end of 2025, Yamaha will finally introduce its first electric scooter in India. Based on River Indie, it was observed during test runs close to River’s Bengaluru factory and was code-named Yamaha RY01. With a range of approximately 100 kilometres on a single charge, the e-scooter is probably going to have the same 4 kWh battery pack as the River Indie. It will be manufactured in River’s Bengaluru production plant and sold at Yamaha showrooms all over the nation. The ex-showroom pricing of the Yamaha RY01 may be around 1.50 lakh.

      2. Hero Vida VX2

On July 1, 2025, Hero MotoCorp will introduce the Vida VX2 to the Indian market. Since it is the rebadged Vida Z, it has already been seen at a corporate dealership without any camouflage. There will be three trim levels available for the VX2 e-scooter: Lite, Pro, and Plus. Since it will be positioned beneath the Vida V2, it will be deprived of several high-end features, including split-seat configuration, touchscreen TFT screen, and Smart key with keyless go. It will, however, share battery packs with the Vida V2, thus the range should be the same. The starting price (ex-showroom) is anticipated to be approximately Rs 65,000.

      3. TVS Jupiter Electric

In India, TVS is developing a brand-new entry-level electric scooter that will sit beneath the iQube line. It may be known as the Jupiter EV and is expected to hit stores later this year during the Diwali holiday. A more affordable model than the iQube, the TVS Jupiter EV will have fewer features and a smaller battery pack. According to insiders, TVS may launch the new e-scooter for as little as Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom), making it the most reasonably priced model in the company’s lineup.

      4. Suzuki e-Access

In the upcoming weeks, Suzuki will introduce its first electric scooter in India. The brand’s Gurgaon factory has already started producing the e-scooter. At the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi, it was on display for the general audience. The Suzuki e-Access will have a 3 kWh battery that can go 95 km between charges. The e-Access will allow DC rapid charging in addition to the portable AC charger. We anticipate Suzuki pricing it between Rs 1.20 and Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).

      5. Bajaj Electric Scooter

Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto, informed reporters on the fringes of the Bajaj Chetak 35 series launch event that other electric scooters are planned and will be unveiled gradually in the upcoming fiscal year. No other information about these impending Bajaj electric scooters was disclosed, though. At Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), the Bajaj Chetak 3503 is presently the brand’s most reasonably priced electric scooter. In order to compete with the Hero Vida V2 and TVS Jupiter EV, the new Bajaj electric scooter is probably going to be priced under Rs 1 lakh.
