Exicom Tele-Systems Limited, a leading provider of EV charging and critical power solutions, has announced its support for Charger on Wheels, a startup pioneering mobile EV charging solutions in India. This partnership positions Exicom as a technology enabler, helping the startup test, refine, and scale mobile EV charging—a growing segment in the evolving EV ecosystem.
The collaboration will enable Charger on Wheels to strengthen its technology platform and establish early market presence with leading developers and facility management companies. By leveraging Exicom’s expertise, the startup aims to expand its reach across urban markets and deliver practical, user-friendly charging solutions.
For Exicom, the move aligns with its broader strategy to accelerate EV adoption by supporting innovative business models that complement existing charging infrastructure. Mobile EV charging addresses critical challenges in urban areas, such as limited grid availability and fire safety restrictions in basement installations, providing a capex-light solution for EV users.
Anant Nahata, Managing Director and CEO of Exicom, emphasised the importance of such innovations:
“Seamless charging infrastructure is crucial for EV adoption, and we need newer formats that address key pain points for EV users. Mobile EV charging, or chargers on wheels, can bridge this gap, strengthening the EV ecosystem in India.”
Anil Kumar, founder of Charger on Wheels, said,
“This backing comes at a pivotal time as we expand our mobile charging fleet and enhance our technology platform. While still in early stages, we have already partnered with leading developers to provide residential charging via mobile vans. Mobile EV charging taps a significant opportunity to improve the EV charging experience in urban India.”
This initiative builds on Exicom’s previous collaborations to enhance the EV ecosystem, including partnerships with Hubject (Germany) for interoperability, Ionage for integrated Charger Management Systems, and Mufin Green Infra for turnkey solutions. Collectively, these efforts reflect Exicom’s commitment to driving innovation and adoption in India’s electric mobility sector.
