According to a collaborative research undertaken by AC Ventures and the e-mobility group AEML, the entire electric vehicle ecosystem market in Indonesia is expected to exceed USD 20 billion by 2030. According to this analysis, the overall market for research and development (R&D) and electric vehicle manufacturing is estimated to be between USD 12.5 billion and USD 15 billion by 2030.
Besides, the market size for cell manufacture and battery management system is estimated to be worth around USD 3 billion to USD 4.5 billion, while charging infrastructure is estimated will reach around USD 2 billion to USD 3 billion in 2030.
The study also revealed that service, maintenance, and battery recycling industries will reach market size around USD 500 million to USD 1.5 billion in 2030. However, battery recycling industry is estimated will not enough in 2030 because the existence of electric vehicle industry is fairly new in Southeast Asia region, especially because electric vehicle battery generally last about 10 years.
