August 22, 2025, saw Indian electric vehicle (EV) and auto component stocks experience a mixed trading day. Investors seemed hesitant, with some making small buys while others took profits.

Uno Minda led the pack, jumping 2.87% to ₹1,265.80 on a positive outlook for auto parts. Sona Comstar and Olectra Greentech also performed well, increasing by 1.59% and 1.52%, respectively, driven by continued excitement around electric vehicle components and more electric buses.

Minda Corporation’s stock price increased by 1.56% to ₹507.85, and JBM Auto’s rose by 0.80%. HBL Engineering also experienced a slight gain of 0.74%, which shows that investors are still interested in different electric vehicle companies.

On the flip side, Greaves Cotton took a hit, falling by 3.34%, and Ola Electric Mobility slid 3.32% to ₹47.19 due to concerns about quick earnings. Bharat Forge fell by 2.70%, and Exicom Tele-Systems dropped 2.23%. Even with its EV plans moving forward, Hero MotoCorp dipped 1.95%.

Two big battery makers, Exide Industries and Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, also closed down by 1.10% and 0.26%, respectively, showing a wary feeling in the energy storage space.

Giants like Bosch and Tata Motors saw slight losses, while Bharat Electronics barely stayed in the green at 0.18%.

Overall, the day painted a picture of a sector in transition, with careful buying in EV component companies as investors took gains on older stocks. Market watchers believe the EV market will keep rewarding smart stock picks soon, helped by government backing and strong demand.
