On August 5, 2025, India’s electric vehicle (EV) and auto component industry had mixed stock market returns that reflected diverging investor sentiment toward key companies.

Among the top gainers, UNO Minda jumped an outstanding 3.87% at ₹1,103.10, with investor sentiment surrounding its increased offerings of EV components on the rise. Exicom Tele-Systems Ltd. was worth ₹150 after a 2.58% increase as momentum continued within the sector for the charging infrastructure. Sona Comstar was up 0.93% and indicates investor confidence in its EV drivetrain products is steady. Hero MotoCorp and Tata Motors increased slightly at 0.25% and 0.16% respectively.

On the minus side, Minda Corporation witnessed one of the biggest losses at -2.61% closing at ₹483.40 possibly due to investor apprehension. Other notable decliners included Exide Industries (-1.55%), Bharat Forge (-1.44%), Greaves Cotton (-1.40%), and Bosch (-1.27%). The losses are taking place as overall fears build over earnings pressure and high raw material costs.

EV-related companies such as Ola Electric reflected minimal growth (0.05% increase), which was a good indication for this budding segment. Major producers such as Bharat Electronics, HEG, and JBM Auto reflected declines year-to-date but similar to the other players above had minor movements.

The mixed results highlight that this market is transitioning from potential to actual, and investors are paying close attention to production ramp-ups, policy incentives and quarterly results.
