On July 25, 2025, India’s electric vehicle (EV) and auto component sector witnessed a widespread downturn in the stock market, with most listed companies ending the day in the red. This decline reflects cautious investor sentiment, likely due to market volatility and mixed signals in the global EV and manufacturing sectors.

Among the key decliners, Sona Comstar led the losses, falling by 4.36% to close at ₹469.45. Greaves Cotton also saw a sharp drop of 4.15%, ending the day at ₹200.15. Other notable losers included Olectra Greentech (-3.37%), OLA Electric Mobility Ltd. (-3.22%), and HEG (-3.23%).

Exide Industries, a major battery maker, also slipped by 2.71%, closing at ₹380.6, while HBL Engineering declined by 2.62%. Exicom Tele-Systems, active in EV charging solutions, saw its stock drop by 2.19%, reflecting investor caution in the EV infrastructure segment.

Bigger names in the sector also faced losses. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility dropped by 1.51%, Tata Motors fell 1.88%, and Hero MotoCorp declined by 1.66%. Even Bosch, a steady performer, slipped marginally by 0.22%.

Auto component players like Minda Corporation and JBM Auto were among the few to limit their losses to less than 1%. Interestingly, UNO Minda stood out as the only gainer, rising by 0.38% to close at ₹1,085.10.

The overall dip signals temporary pressure in the market, with investors possibly adopting a wait-and-watch approach amid earnings announcements and global economic developments. Despite the current slide, experts remain hopeful about long-term growth in the EV and components space, driven by policy support and growing adoption.
