In a major boost to India’s electric mobility landscape, ChargeZone, the country’s largest charge point operator (CPO), has acquired Zerovolt’s flagship Wadala charging facility in Mumbai. The all-cash deal, though undisclosed in value, marks a key consolidation in the fast-growing EV infrastructure sector.
Zerovolt, founded in 2022 by Harshdeep Singh Virk and Priyesh Joshi, has swiftly risen as a leader in heavy commercial EV charging. The company has been instrumental in powering Chalo Mobility, India’s first private electric intra-city bus operator, and providing large-scale charging solutions for commercial fleets.
Following the acquisition, ChargeZone strengthens its position as India’s most well-funded and fastest-growing CPO. Backed by investors including BlueOrchard Finance and British International Investment, the company is working toward building a network of 15,000 fast DC charging points nationwide.
Speaking on the development, Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of ChargeZone, said,
“India’s EV ecosystem is entering a decisive growth phase, and the electrification of heavy commercial vehicles will be its true tipping point. By integrating Zerovolt’s Wadala hub, we are not only expanding our footprint but also reinforcing our commitment to building the backbone of sustainable transport.”
Meanwhile, Zerovolt’s founders are preparing for their next big venture—creating India’s first integrated EV ecosystem for commercial fleets. The company has announced plans to invest over ₹250 crores in the next two years to expand electrification across transport and logistics, sectors that account for some of the country’s highest fuel consumption and emissions.
Industry experts see this move as a pivotal moment in India’s EV transition, combining ChargeZone’s nationwide network strength with Zerovolt’s pioneering expertise in heavy commercial fleet electrification.
