At its Chennai plant, CEAT has launched a new Truck Bus Radial (TBR) tire production line. In the upcoming year, the new production line is anticipated to be able to produce 1,500 tires per day. The objective of this development is to augment CEAT’s production capacities and bolster its global market expansion.

In addition to CEAT’s current operations, which include the production of motorcycle radial (MCR) and passenger car radial (PCR) tires, the new TBR production line will enhance them. The growth is a component of CEAT’s plan to concentrate on safety, sustainability, and digital innovation while meeting the growing demand for high-performance cars in both home and foreign markets.

The new TBR line, according to CEAT’s Managing Director and CEO Arnab Banerjee, is a big milestone in the company’s plan to expand internationally. He stated that the investment is in line with CEAT’s objectives to improve workplace productivity and safety through smart technologies and linked systems, as well as to provide a wide selection of tires in various countries, including Europe and the US.

Spread across 160 acres in Sriperumbudur, the Chennai facility is a vital component of CEAT’s international activities. To improve productivity, safety, and quality standards, the facility is outfitted with networked gear, real-time data analytics, and advanced automation. With distinctions like the Sword of Honour and the British Safety Council 5-Star Award, it has also been acknowledged for its safety initiatives.

The facility also places a strong emphasis on sustainability, obtaining 40% of its energy from renewable sources (including a rooftop solar array of 5 MW) and intending to raise this percentage to 50% by 2025. Its zero liquid discharge operation is a testament to CEAT’s dedication to minimizing its environmental effect.
