BLive has inked a strategic alliance with Zomato to introduce its electric vehicles (EVs) in 20 cities across India, commencing in Hyderabad with an initial fleet.

BLive To achieve this objective, the company has introduced an innovative Rent-to-Own model, a first-of-its-kind in the country, enabling delivery riders to become EV owners without any upfront payment.

This endeavor tackles the difficulties encountered by these riders, including restricted financial opportunities stemming from low credit scores and substantial upfront payment obligations.

In each city, an exclusive deployment of 100 to 200 electric vehicles (EVs) is planned, specifically for Zomato riders. The ambitious scheme aims to deploy 10,000 EVs for Zomato riders throughout India within the next two years.

To tackle the scarcity of electric vehicles in the market, BLive is focused on providing comprehensive EV solutions to last-mile delivery companies like Zomato. The company primarily targets Tier-2 cities to bridge the supply gap and cater to the demands of last-mile delivery organizations.

Samarth Kholkar, CEO and Co-Founder of BLive, emphasized that the collaboration aims to further the company’s mission for wider adoption of EVs in India, positioning BLive as the one-stop EV solution for the burgeoning delivery segment.

Besides the environmental benefits, using EVs will significantly reduce operational costs for Zomato riders, making them an attractive proposition for last-mile delivery service providers, he added.

Shikhar Agarwal, Programme Manager – Electric Vehicles Lead at Zomato, highlighted that the partnership underscores the company’s dedication to green mobility and sustainable operations.
