In keeping with its commitment to a sustainable future, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has announced an expanded relationship with Bangalore-based IONAGE, a top eMobility service provider. Through this partnership, the IONAGE platform will continue to provide access to all BPCL electric vehicle (EV) chargers across the country, greatly increasing the convenience of EV owners.

Since its founding in 2021, IONAGE has made a name for itself in the Indian e-mobility market by offering cutting-edge solutions that empower EV owners as well as enterprises. By 2028, the company hopes to have integrated a network of more than 100,000 EV chargers onto its roaming platform, opening up the EV charging market to over 10,000 SMBs.

The collaboration builds on BPCL’s eDrive Initiative, which was introduced in February 2022 and attempts to give users of the company’s vast charging network a smooth and seamless experience. BPCL chargers would improve customer convenience by enabling users to access several CPO chargers through a single platform. Currently, IONAGE’s platform aggregates chargers from different Charger Point Operators (CPOs).

The agreement was signed by Mr. S. Kannan, Chief General Manager of Marketing, Retail, BPCL, and Mr. Vimal Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of IONAGE, in the presence of Mr. Pardeep Goyal, Business Head, Retail, BPCL.

Mr. Pardeep Goyal expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with IONAGE, a dynamic leader in the eMobility space, as part of our commitment to building a sustainable and accessible EV charging infrastructure across India. Customer accessibility and convenience are paramount for the utilization of charging infrastructure.”

In order to significantly accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India, IONAGE hopes to soon work with important partners to enable the installation of EV charging facilities in over 15,000 apartments.
