Ather Energy has officially introduced its popular Rizta electric scooter in Sri Lanka, marking another significant step in the company’s international expansion strategy. The debut took place at the Colombo Motor Show 2025, one of the country’s most prominent automotive showcases, reaffirming Ather’s growing presence across South Asian markets.

The launch is in partnership with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd., Ather’s authorised distributor in Sri Lanka. The company originally entered the Sri Lankan market in December 2024 with its flagship 450X model, and the addition of the family-focused Rizta further strengthens its regional portfolio.

Ather Energy’s Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Singh Phokela, said the Rizta has already gained strong traction in India and Nepal, and its entry into Sri Lanka aligns with rising consumer interest in premium, reliable electric mobility. He noted that the scooter’s performance, comfort, and technology make it well-suited for Sri Lankan riding conditions.

The Ather Rizta comes equipped with a large 34-litre under-seat storage compartment, advanced SkidControl technology, and, in the Z variant, a 7-inch TFT touchscreen supporting Google Maps navigation, music, and call management. Built as a family-orientated electric scooter, the Rizta emphasises practicality, safety, and longevity.

To support growing EV adoption in the region, Ather has already deployed its Ather Grid fast-charging network across key Sri Lankan locations and operates 40 Ather Experience Centres offering sales, service, and customer engagement.

With the Rizta’s introduction, Ather Energy aims to solidify its leadership in the rapidly expanding South Asian electric two-wheeler market while continuing to build a strong and accessible EV ecosystem in Sri Lanka.
