Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, highlighted its expanding ambitions in the electric vehicle industry by unveiling the latest developments of its Model A electric vehicle during its annual Tech Day 2025 event held in Taipei. The showcase marks another step in the company’s long-term strategy to diversify beyond consumer electronics and position itself as a major player in global EV manufacturing.

The Model A, developed under Foxconn’s MIH (Mobility in Harmony) EV ecosystem, demonstrates the company’s commitment to accelerating EV adoption through scalable platforms and flexible production capabilities. At the event, Foxconn executives presented upgrades to the vehicle’s design architecture, battery technology, and digital integration, positioning the Model A as a practical, mass-producible EV aimed at both domestic and international markets.

With its modular platform, the Model A supports multiple body styles and drivetrain configurations, enabling potential customers—including automakers, mobility startups, and fleet operators—to customise vehicles efficiently. Foxconn reiterated that its EV ecosystem is built on open-source principles, allowing partners worldwide to collaborate on software, hardware, and development tools.

The Tech Day presentation also highlighted the company’s progress in building a competitive EV supply chain, supported by manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, China, and the United States. Foxconn reaffirmed its goal of capturing 5% of the global EV market by 2025 and scaling further through strategic partnerships and contract manufacturing agreements.

Industry analysts note that Foxconn’s aggressive push into EVs comes as it seeks to reduce reliance on smartphone assembly amid slowing global demand. The Model A’s latest demonstration underscores the company’s confidence in EVs as a core pillar of future growth and innovation.

Foxconn’s Tech Day 2025 signals a decisive step toward transforming the company into a major automotive OEM enabler, further strengthening its position in the rapidly evolving global electric mobility landscape.
