A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by MG Motor India and Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited (ATEL), a fully owned subsidiary of Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL), to improve the EV charging infrastructure in India.
Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited will install CC2 60 kW DC chargers at future MG dealerships in accordance with this agreement. Additionally, the alliance will offer a complete solution that includes infrastructure for charging supply, installation, commissioning, operations, and maintenance. Furthermore, according to the press release, a digital platform will be introduced to enable a smooth user experience. This platform will handle discovery, user identification, charging, and billing settlement using a specific mobile application.
Additionally, both parties will investigate the possibility of utilising cutting-edge application programming interfaces to integrate public charging stations across platforms.
“MG is committed to Carbon Neutrality, Sustainability, and Green Mobility. This strategic partnership reflects our commitment to sustainable mobility and our vision to revolutionise the EV landscape by building a robust charging infrastructure. The combined synergies aim to empower Indian consumers to embrace electric mobility”, said Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer, MG Motor India.
“This effort will contribute towards reducing carbon emissions and promoting a cleaner and greener environment.”, said Suresh P Mangalani, ED and CEO, Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited.
The collaboration will enhance customer experience with RIFD solutions accessible to MG users at the strategic locations of ATEL’s public charging network, especially at places such as airports. ATEL will offer RFID cards to MG through bulk purchase arrangements, featuring preferential discount offerings for MG users.
