Zypp Electric, India’s leading electric vehicle (EV) rental platform, has announced a strategic partnership with the UK-based Shell Foundation to enhance EV access, promote sustainable livelihoods, and accelerate women’s participation in last-mile delivery across India. The collaboration aims to expand Zypp’s EV rental solutions in Tier-2 markets, democratise EV adoption, and build a more inclusive and sustainable mobility ecosystem.
Key Focus Areas of the Partnership
The partnership will focus on three core initiatives:
-
Expansion into Tier-2 Cities: Zypp Electric plans to scale its operations beyond metropolitan hubs to underserved Tier-2 cities, bringing EV rental solutions to a broader audience and enabling clean last-mile deliveries.
-
Women-Centric Delivery Programs: The collaboration seeks to empower women entrepreneurs in the gig economy by creating tailored delivery programs, encouraging female participation in EV operations, and supporting financial independence.
-
EV Training Academy Growth: Zypp will scale its EV Training Academy, offering comprehensive training for riders, especially women, to operate and maintain EV fleets safely and efficiently, thereby building the EV workforce of the future.
