Zero Motorcycles officially started delivering its eagerly awaited X Line models, following the start of production. The company’s push into more reasonably priced off-road and adventure EVs is reaching a turning point as the first wave of customers receive their new Zero XE and Zero XB electric motorcycles.
Zero CEO Sam Paschel stated, “The first X Line bikes are a major accomplishment for Zero and for the future of off-road EV performance.” It marks the beginning of a new era in the experience of adventure riding. We’re making electric motorcycles more approachable and accessible for riders worldwide with the XB and XE.
Late last year, Zero first revealed the X Line, a two-bike range targeted at trail and adventure riders. The XE and XB models weren’t merely low-cost iterations of Zero’s current on-road bikes; they were intended to be new, reasonably priced platforms.
The US bikes are for off-road use only, but they’re street-legal in Europe.
Zero’s Chinese partner Zongshen collaborated with Zero to create the two models, which feature lightweight frames, interchangeable battery packs, and ample power for off-road adventures. Additionally, they are the most reasonably priced models Zero has ever produced: the larger, more potent Zero XE costs $6,495 in the United States, while the smaller Zero XB starts at just $4,395.
The X Line marks a significant change for Zero, which has traditionally concentrated on high-end electric motorcycles that cost well into the five-figure range at those price points.
Deliveries started this week and will keep happening over the coming months. The company says that deliveries will start in the autumn of 2025 for buyers who make new reservations starting today.
Zero made a calculated decision with the X Line to attract more riders than just high-end sport bike enthusiasts and city commuters. With more riders expressing interest in electric motorcycles, particularly younger and off-road-focused consumers, the XE and XB might be the ideal combination of price and capability to introduce new riders to the EV motorcycle market.
