Zeno, an electric vehicle startup located in Bengaluru, has introduced Emara, which it says is the country’s first sport utility electric motorcycle (SUEM). Emara, positioned as a sustainable substitute for commuters riding 100–150 cc petrol bikes, is a major foray into India’s expanding two-wheeler EV market.
Performance & Technical Highlights:
With a top speed of 90 km/h and a practical range of 100 km on a 4 kWh battery pack—which can be increased to 8 kWh depending on user requirements—the Emara is a powerful vehicle. The electric motorcycle was created with practicality in mind, and its remarkable 250 kg load capacity makes it appropriate for both everyday riders and last-mile logistics.
Pricing & Ownership Models:
Zeno is offering Emara in two pricing models:
- Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS): The normal subscription starts at ₹79,000, while early bird clients start at ₹64,000.
- Complete Ownership: ₹1.19 lakh, with the first 5,000 purchasers receiving a special introductory price of ₹1.00 lakh.
Targeting urban riders seeking efficiency without sacrificing load capacity or price, Zeno hopes to close the performance-utility gap in the electric motorcycle market with Emara.
