Zelio E-Mobility, a rapidly expanding electric two- and three-wheeler manufacturer that has been doubling its growth year over year, has announced a new manufacturing facility in Cuttack (Odisha), marking an important milestone in its expansion across eastern India. The decision comes after exceptional growth and strong customer acceptance in Odisha and West Bengal, regions that have rapidly emerged among the company’s most promising markets.

Setting up the plant closer to its core customer base will bring down delivery timelines, which currently stretch to nearly a week when products are shipped from the Hisar (Haryana) facility, while also reducing logistics costs and improving supply efficiency. The Odisha plant is also designed to substantially expand the company’s production capabilities while positioning it for stronger growth in southern India. With the commissioning of this facility, Zelio’s total installed production capacity has increased significantly from 72,000 units per annum earlier to 1,80,000 units per annum. The company’s existing manufacturing facility at Ladwa, Hisar, Haryana, has also seen its installed capacity enhanced from 72,000 units per annum to 1,20,000 units per annum through process-level optimisation, including installation of an extended conveyor belt and additional machinery. Meanwhile, the newly commissioned Odisha plant contributes an additional capacity of 60,000 units per annum.

With an investment of under INR 3 crore, the facility is now operational and is expected to begin contributing to revenue immediately. Zelio expects the Odisha unit to play a major role in its business trajectory, with projections indicating that by FY26–FY27, it could contribute a significant share of overall revenues, supported by accelerating demand in the East and increasing EV adoption across South India.

The plant will focus exclusively on the production of electric two-wheelers. Discussions regarding the final layout, machinery, capacity, and integration of advanced, eco-friendly systems are underway, with details to be shared once the technical phase is completed. Engagements with the Odisha government regarding potential incentives and support programs are also ongoing, with the company planning to share further information as the process progresses. The facility is expected to generate employment for approximately 60 to 100 local individuals across production, operations and related functions, reinforcing Zelio’s commitment to regional economic development.

Commenting on the plan, Kunal Arya, Managing Director, Zelio E-Mobility, said, “Eastern India has emerged as one of our strongest growth regions, with customers showing exceptional trust in our products. Setting up the Cuttack facility brings us closer to our riders and dealers, enabling faster deliveries, lower logistics costs and improved serviceability. Notably, this expansion marks an important step in strengthening India’s EV ecosystem and creating long-term value for our customers and partners.”

In addition, the Cuttack facility will play a key role in strengthening Zelio’s fast-growing dealership network across eastern and southern India by enabling faster product availability, improved after-sales responsiveness and stronger inventory support. As demand for affordable EV mobility continues to surge across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, the company aims to accelerate its expansion strategy with the added advantage of a regionally located production hub that reduces delivery timelines.

The announcement of the new facility follows Zelio E-Mobility’s strong H1 FY26 financial performance, where the company reported consolidated revenue of INR 134.78 crore and net profit of INR 11.87 crore. Earlier this year, the company successfully completed an SME IPO of INR 78.34 crore, with INR 36 crore of unutilised proceeds currently earmarked for capacity expansion and new facilities such as the upcoming Odisha plant. With over 337 dealerships across 20 plus states and a growing lineup of mass market electric two wheelers, Zelio continues to build its position as a trusted, fast growing and customer focused EV brand in India.
