      Wizikey has published its much-anticipated Annual Newsmakers Report, providing a nuanced glimpse into the dynamic landscape of 2023’s startups.

      Headlining the Newsmakers list are Ola, Dream11, Swiggy, OYO, and Byju’s, capturing the zeitgeist of innovation and disruption.

      Sustained FinTech Supremacy

      The Annual Newsmakers Report underscores the enduring dominance of FinTech, securing its position as the most prominent sector in news for the third consecutive year. Zerodha, a beacon in financial technology, claims the top spot, solidifying its influence in this rapidly evolving domain.

      Notable Shifts and Resilient Growth Stories

      Intriguing shifts mark the rankings; PhysicsWallah’s astounding 8x jump from 146 to 12 signifies its meteoric rise in the startup ecosystem. Simultaneously, stalwarts like BharatPe and Razorpay continue to fortify their positions in the top 20 newsmakers. The report is also a tribute to growth tales, where startups like Atomberg (236 to 68) and Inshorts (343 to 94) display commendable threefold increases from the previous year. KlubWorks making a noteworthy leap from 122nd to 63rd position.

      Technology’s Diverse Impact

      Technology emerges as the second most significant newsmaker, with startups in consumer tech and enterprise tech making headlines. Dream11, Swiggy, Dunzo, Lenskart, and ShareChat lead the charge in consumer tech, while InMobi, Skyroot, CIEL HR shine in enterprise tech.

      Ola: Pioneering Sustainable Transport and Innovation

      Stealing the spotlight is Ola, a frontrunner in electric mobility and global ride-sharing, positioned as the most visible startup in India for 2023. Ola’s commitment to sustainable transport and inclusive innovation is exemplified by the introduction of budget-friendly e-scooters and the upcoming 100-acre EV mega factory in Tamil Nadu.

      Dream11, Swiggy, and OYO: Catalyzing Transformations

      Dream11 charts a new course with its ambitious foray into the digital payments space through DreamX, a UPI payments app. Swiggy captures attention with its strategic diversification into online retail, marked by the merger with LYNK logistics. OYO, on the other hand, makes headlines with its international expansion, boasting a portfolio of 2500+ hotels in Indonesia.
